New Church Plant in Oslo, Norway

At an International meeting held in Switzerland in May this year, Jenny and I meet Eskil and Anne from Kraft Verket (Power Plant) Church in Askim, Norway. Having received many prophecies about starting a church in Oslo we decided to visit Kraft Verket Church and at the same time look at the possibilities of starting a new church.

In September we made our first visit. We spent most of the time working with Kraft Verket Church. We also visited a few Tamil families that we had made contact with through our churches in Swiss and Paris. On our first visit to Oslo we visited a family whose brother is in our church in Paris. We were surprised when Eskil told us that the area where this family was living was an area in Oslo that he had been praying for, for some time with the view to starting a house group. He also shared with us that a young couple who were working with their church lived in the same area. This really seemed to be a “God Connection”. We decided to return to the same area in November and do some further Evangelism.

In November we took the leaders of the New Life Church in Lausanne, Swiss, Sasi & Serena with us. “Another God Connection took place”. The family that Sasi & Serena were staying with lived on the same street as the other Tamil families that we had already made connections with. It seemed obvious that God was impressing on us to work in this area. Over the next few days we began going door to door talking to people and inviting them to meetings that Jenny would be speaking at.

Because of the television Ministry that we run daily on the “Lords Television”, Jenny was already well known by many of those that we were visiting. Meetings were held at the Oslo Vineyard Church. It was a real joint effort with members of the Kraft Verket Church organising the children’s work, sound system and hospitality. From these meetings three families received Christ into their lives. We visited each family over the weekend and arranged for a house group to start. The house group will run every 2nd Saturday starting on December 2nd with Eskil overseeing the house group. One of the young Tamil girls who accepted Jesus will translate from Norwegian to Tamil.

Each month leaders from the New Life Church in Switzerland and the New Creation Church in Paris will visit the house group and continue to evangelise in the area where the house group is meeting.
