Hi everyone Sorry this is a bit of an impersonal email. However I would ask you to pray for us all as the current situation in Sri Lanka escalates. We now have a children's home that is effectively in a war zone and although they children and staff are all alright at present there is heavy fighting in many parts of Jaffna. The roads to Jaffna are closed and flights have been stopped. Phone lines are difficult to use even if there is a service at all! Thank God the curfew was lifted today for a couple of hours allowing home staff to go out and buy food and other essential items. There was a bomb in Colombo city today near Liberty Plaza for those of you who know the area. It was targeted at Pakistan Diplomatic personnel. 7 people were killed and nearly 20 injured. In Wattala last night a lorry was searched by the police and found to contain a large amount of ammunition and explosives. Both the men with the lorry took cyanide capsules, one died and the other was taken to Ragama hospital. I am told there are many police checking people on the bridge near the project tonight.
